Match of the Day X and England’s official YouTube channel presenter Craig Mitch has been forced to apologise after calling Liverpool ‘a s***hole’ where ‘people haven’t got jobs’.

The clip has surfaced from a show called Filthy Fellas which is still going but Mitch hasn’t been on it since taking up the job with England.

On Tuesday morning, Mitch apologised for his actions: ‘There is a video of me making insensitive jokes about Liverpool from 5 years ago on Twitter.

‘This was clipped from an old episode of a YouTube show. I apologise for the offence these comments could cause and just know, these are not my actual views about a place I have a lot of respect for. 

‘Sometimes as football fans, we take banter too far. Back then, I did and I apologise for that.’

Another video of Mitch being disparaging against Liverpool has emerged on social media.

He said: ‘He’s going to a developed area. That’s all it is. He’s leaving a deprived area and going to a very developed area where there’s sun and low crime rates.’

Mitch, who describes himself as a ‘multi-talented broadcaster’ on his website biography, has worked as a presenter on MOTDx, Premier League TV’s Weekend Warm Up and Match Pack.

He also presents Game Day Countdown on talkSPORT radio and works as a co-host on the JD Sports online YouTube football channel.

During the 2018 World Cup, which saw England reach the semi-finals, Mitch hosted the daily Lions’ Den show on England’s YouTube channel in which he interviewed England players and manager Gareth Southgate.

His Instagram account features a picture of him posing with Chelsea duo Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori. 

He is also seen in earlier posts with Chelsea manager Frank Lampard and interviewing Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
